    countershaft,

We're going to need a lot more information about the rifle and load in order to do any good for you.

Describe the rifle; is it bedded, is the barrel floated, have you checked the crown, how is the scope mounted, is it tight, is it square and in line with the bore, has the receiver been trued along with the bolt, lugs and bolt face?

Describe the load(s); OAL, bullet(s) used including brand name and weight, quantity of powder, have you measured the fired cases, are they round or oblong?

Tell us about the groups; what size are they, are they round or oblong horizontal or vertical? How many shots to a group; 5 shot group that splits into 2 groups of 3 and 2?

How is the rifle being rested and how are you holding it? Do you repeat the hold and rest exactly each shot?

More information is better since we can't see the rifle or shoot the targets.

    Best.

My Pet load with 100gr Ballistic Tips, in the .25-06 is 54.0gr of IMR 4831 with Fed GM215M primers. 3 shots in an 1" or under from several rifles. Some books list up to 56.0grs as max...this is all you need for about 3300-3400 fps depending on the rifle. Responsible for the demise of more whitetails than you'd believe!
