The tires on my '94 Ford Explorer are begining to go bald and I figure it won't be long before I'll have to replace them. I was wondering what a ballpark figure would be of how much 4 tires would set me back?
This will be the first set of tires we'll have to buy for this car. My parents got it new and as the factory set were about ready to be replaced, firestone had their blowouts on explorers. So they gave us a new set which we used for a year until they gave us another brand. It's at 157k miles right now without ever buying tires.

The only thing they carry in your size are all season tires. I ran another search for winter tires and wheels and it came back with a reply of:
quote:Winter wheels for this vehicle are not available but winter tires can be purchased separately by selecting your size at the right.
I then clicked to the right and got a reply of:
quote:Recommended Tires are not available in this diameter for this vehicle.
Original Equipment Wheel Diameter: 17"
I hope you can find more than I could
But then again, my yokohamas are absolutely flawless in the snow.

Winter results for 245/60/17:

I have heard great things about the Bridgestone's above, but being that I live in SoCal I cannot say that I have personal experance using them
