I don't drink milk so I have no idea what it costs in MI. My wife only buys organic milk for our daughter, though, so I'm sure we pay too much!

Yep, I think the organic stuff is 3.70+/- a 1/2 gallon.
I've been paying $1.70-$1.99 a half for a year now.
I wanted to throw in a joke too "It depends what kind of mood the wife is in" but you might not like that on a family forum. Lets just say I'm the first guy she brought home to mama.

Price war here. $1.39 for a half gallon of 1%. Gallon of any skim,1%,2%, or whole milk $1.49

Gallon milk is the big loss leader here ever since walmart started opening super stores locally.

Hey G36, arent you worried about osteoporosis? Is it lactose intolerancy? Remember, taking just calcium is useless unless you take vitamin D with it, which is necessary for the bones to absorb calcium.

Milk here in Erie, PA, ranges from about 2.59 to 2.99 a gallon. Milk is gooOooooooooOood.

gunpaq, I gather a bit of sarcasm in your "rich farmer" comment! For wherever yo people are in this country, the farmer that supplied that milk got somewhere between $1.10 and $1.30 per gallon. GHD

Here is an interesting read if you wish to see how farmers here in PA are paid. In the one example they show the farmer got paid a little over $8,000 for one month, not good if you ask me.

Farmer's aren't getting richer, CEO's are getting richer.

The price they pay dairy farmers for milk is still low because they are importing Milk Protein Concentrate (dried powder milk) from other countries and adding water and selling it to you as fresh milk.

CEO's are banking for importing another product produced in some cess pool country for pennies on the dollar.

Bet your rears nobody is testing the MPC, isn't even approved by the FDA for human consumption.

    Got Milk?
