Fracking is big in Wyoming -- just not too close to homes. Oil/gas industry types around here say it really ramps up production.

Lots of new technology coming in to increase production of old wells.

It will get your area more oil/gas production bringing local jobs, and the increased spending they bring, in the short term; big profits for the very few corporate bigwigs and increased stock value for shareholders in the short and mid term; poisoned water, ruined land, decreased property values, and an EPA (read: taxpayer) funded clean up when they do it and run in the long term.

Fracking is one of those things that can go either way. Done properly and with regard to the surrounding neighbors, the water table, and with consideration for possible problems it's reasonably safe and efficient.

More to the point will be the massive truck traffic and some of the imported undesirables. Not all you understand. It's just that the term roughneck describes the job fairly well.

We have a well on our property and Bradford Co. in PA is currently under siege with men, trucks, equipment, noise... And money.
