Binocular Question

I have owned a set of armored Celestron 10 x 40 binoculars for 30+ yrs, love'em but the rubber eye cups are old, dried & brittle which I keep taped together around the exterior with electrical tape, my question is, where can I find replacement eye cups ?? I've contacted (e-mailed) Celestron several times and gotten "zero" response back from them and I can't find a private source for eye cup replacements. The binoculars are really nice, very durable and clear, hate to trash them for this reason but it's getting to the point taping may not hold in the future.......any ideas or past experience with such ?

I'm in the same boat. I need eyecups for a set of armoured Steiners. No ansswer from distributors or the main office.
I can understand if they're no longer available but "zero" customer contact really pisses me [:(!]

I've tried sites like those, apparently my model has been discontinued for a number of years, there's so many different styles & size eye cups finding some to fit would be like a lighting strike. Heck, I'm not even sure how or where to measure for the size I need. Thanks though [;)]

Wow, I always just emailed customer service, I never thought to look for a warranty page.
Thanks much!

I contacted Steiner today. The facility is in Colorado, the guy I talked to is from Mobile!
I told him the problem, he told me I could either purchase the eye cups direct or send him the binocs for a complete overhaul and replacement of parts!
By the serial number, he told me they were made in 1996!
I'm shipping them out tomorrow.
Man, Steiner is just the cats * on binocs.[:p]
I have a U boat watch that my wife bought me and i really like it
Because it looks like a cheap watch and no one pays any attention to it
So I go to this jewelry shop to get it cleaned and with out any hesitation he tells me i need a complete OVERHAUL at a cost of 980.00
Do not fix anything that is not broke
They're the 10x50 military and marines, but I think all their binocs are the lifetime warranty.
The guy was nice as hell on the phone, emailed me a printable address label and a return label.
In fact, I had some PRIORITY MAIL boxes in the shop so it made it out in the 1500 pickup today.[:p]
I'm gonna take a gamble and say now this has all the makings of a customer orientated company and in less than a month I'll have a like-new set of binocs back in my hand.
Junkballer, I hope you have as good of luck. Thanks for the post!
