I want to install a sight for my father in law. He hates scopes and the existing irons.
It's an early production Remington 742 in 30/06.
I'm thinking a Williams but I don't know of others really.
What can you recommend?

I have been thinking of a low-power scope, like 1-4x or maybe a red dot. I use this gun at PA whitetail range, 100 yards max. He might like a red-dot, he could adjust dot brightness and they usually have great field of view.
Gone to optics on most current rifles. Have to agree on red dots or EOTech holographics. Even long eye relief pistol scopes, have a couple. For old eyes, hard to beat the speed and ease of use.
