Broke a finger...

Making a fast grab at an ice chest wedged between 2 chairs in the back of my truck. I really can't explain it. Ring finger is swollen, dark blue and in a finger brace. Can't hardly sleep due to my heart pounding in my finger.

Stupid, stupid, stupid!

I don't need this right now.

Is a finger something you can do without in your line of work?

Well, I drive in Dallas a lot! So, yes! I need it!

I have it iced, and in a splint- did it myself. Motrin if my best friend today.
I can function, but it's no fun....

Splinting your own finger is probably not a good idea. I really would suggest you see a Dr.! Could you get your ring off?

I only wear my ring on Sunday. During the week , while working, it's not advisable to wear a ring while performing a/c work.

I think I got it right, just gonna take some time to get the swelling down.

    OUCH!!
Keep that puppy soaked in ice
I know just how ya feel. I worked in a steel mill for several years making structural steel tubing. Lots of broken fingers and stitches over those years. Saw quite a few fingers lost during that time as well. Just glad I still have all 10[:)]
You don't realize just how much you use a certain finger until its busted!
Good luck, and I hope ya feel better soon!

A broken finger is no more than a pain that will not go away. Had a couple over the years. Hurt like hell and continue to throb no matter what I did. Even pain meds did not take away the throbbing. Good luck with it.

Hitting it on everything in sight right, just can't stop.
