I initially started talking to this company in the first week of December. I had a total of 3 different hour long phone conversations in about a six week period.
Then I flew to their facility 3 weeks ago for a formal, full day interview, where I met with a total of five different people.
Then they contacted my present boss who spoke with them for two hours. I thought I was in good shape at that point.
Then nothing for the last two weeks. I figured last Friday I was probably out of the running.
I got the news this afternoon about 1:00 that they wanted me and they were requesting details to work out my relocation package. It sure feels good.

Congrats. The new company talked to your current emplyoer for two hours?
The current employer must like him a lot and wants to see him advance even with another company, or he was trying to talk him out of hijacking his personnel.
He got the job so it must not have been a bad thing, but that is a long time to talk about anything.
