text message provided. What is happening in Iraq with ISIS this week translates directly into a threat to you.
It is nasty and savage, but fascinating for its raw, pure fanaticism. Many westerners will see it, but somehow still
cannot admit that what they are watching is actually happening, or has relevance for them. We
have seen too many action movies and played too many video games. We cannot comprehend minds which
function in a frame of reference which joyfully embraces and welcomes death over life.
These primitive fanatics have long-term plans to send some of this action to Europe and America.

Article One, Section Eight of the Constitution says "Congress shall have power to ... declare War".
The minute Obama recognizes it, Congress should declare war on it.
So these are the guys who we were fighting in Iraq. Now, as they take the country back, they are holding recruitment drives. They recruit a couple hundred of our former allies, the guys who we trained and armed to fight against the insurgents.
Now, these radicals give our former allies a choice: renounce the US and the Iraqi government, or die.
We can never beat these guys in Iraq or in Afghanistan.

Allen.......my father and his buddies took good care of the last blackclad (SS) "supermen" and if we put our minds to it, we can beat these guys anywhere.....our guys did it in both countries but we lost the political will to finish the job, electing a "getoutquick" community organizer who got lost in the weeds and lost all our hard won gains. Instead of thinking about these two countries like Germany, Japan and Korea, POTUS had that "Vietnam" thinking hat on....and the results are what they are. These ISUS guys are actually very weak, no air power, can't win the hearts and minds of the people, and certainly are not supermen by any stretch....just brainwashed rads who can be neutralize by us, again, if we have the political will to do the job....nothing like a JDAM or two to ruin an ISIS daytrip!
because we wasn't in their business, they where still living in caves raising animals for a living, and practicing their religion in peace, we had to evolve them 2,000 years in less than 50 and it just cant be done

Yes, these guys are brutal....and that will be their downfall with the Sunni's in Iraq........if we are smart enough to take advantage of it which we can do with good leadership in DC. You can'w win the hearts and minds of the folks by cutting their heads and limbs off which these guys like to do. But with our present bumbling and incompetent leadership, I doubt that we will do much...but I got my fingers crossed that a blind squirrel...well, you know[;)]

barzilla.....what they need to meet is our "serious people." If we had the political will this "issue" could be handled. Lopping off heads and hands is counterproductive and, heck, a well placed .308 can do the same thing. We just need some leaders who have the courage to do the right thing and protect the homeland in the new "homeland" of ISIL. Nothing a well placed JADM or two or more couldn't take care of. We just need BigEars to grow a couple and take care of business.

In ISIS's most recent high definition English-language video, produced by Al-Hayat media (ISIS's jihadi media enterprise), an ISIS militant laughingly asked President Obama on a megaphone, "Obama, did you prepare diapers for your soldiers?" The jihadi was then seen driving around with his fellow ISIS comrades in an American-made Ford F-350, modified into a police truck.

It is very disappointing to see this video, and see that all that was fought for and gained in Iraq is gone, and see these forces equipped with American vehicles and weapons provided by our tax dollars. I work with a former marine that fought in the second Battle of Fallujah, he's pretty disgusted that his friends died for this outcome.

The big problem is we have not fought a war since Korea. Every war has had an agenda other than defeating an enemy. In 1991 we fought to protect the right of American and European corporations to make a profit and then accepted the request of dictators to station troops in Muslim holy places which created a hatred and desire to attack us leading to 911 which in turn lead to the invasion of Afghanistan.
the 2003 Iraqi invasion was simply Bush getting revenge for Saddam trying to kill his dad, a pathetic waste of American lives and treasures and what we see now is the result of what could have been accomplished by a lone assassin of Saddam without a single US live lost. (Which would have loosed the 3 separate factions into a bloody civil war ergo what we now have anyway)
There is no reasoning with these people. they know result of force and consider talk weak.

Iraq, and the world, were better off with Saddam in charge.
With Saddam gone, Iraq is now in the process of splintering into 3 countries. The Kurds in the north will have one state, and the Sunnis and Shiites will fight it out for the rest of the country.
Bush's Iraq War is shaping up as the greatest foreign policy disaster in US history. By the time the dust settles in the middle east, we may see that our Iraq War was an even bigger blunder than Vietnam.
