I met this man and his companion at a gun shop in Hood River Oregon. The dog was well thought of by all, as well as his owner, a true American Hero. A veteran combat pilot of the AVG. he is a vary likable man.

Yesterday I saw two dogs on my place, a miniature doberman and
another one that looked like mutt. Not mean or mongrel looking.
They ran off when I came out. Today, I let my pets out, Remington
and Colt. They immeately took off behind my shed. I followed wondering why the rush. Behind the shed was the little miniature
doberman, dead. Shot thru the lungs. Pretty little thing and young.
I wonder who would have done such a mean thing. Now some child is
without a pet. Really pizzed me off

That a legitimate conversation about the NRA, which was far from turning ugly, gets locked, but a mod gets into a pissing match with another forum member, and the post can go on and on and on.

One friend that will never let you down is your pet. Mine knows when I feel ill or blue and does all he can to help me out. One of the worst days of my life will be in his passing.

That's the only thing about having dog friends.
I've buried a lot of them since 1961 - too many
to count! When Luna died at Easter, I said no
more - PUT MY FOOT DOWN this time - NIPPED IT
    IN THE BUD!

    Sassy's such a great dog - best ever -

... and the family said, "See dad! We KNEW you
    wanted another dog!"

... life goes on, I suppose.
