I killed it......

I am refinishing a 70+ year old cedar dresser. In doing so, I killed my 5 year old sander. Now, I need a replacement. I don't need an industrial Dewalt, just something for medium duty. Before I go and spend money, any suggestions?

Everyone raise their glasses in celebration of the life of a lost sander.

It never shirked a task...so on and so forth.

    Get a Rigid.

Watch it now!! Them's fighting words! Besides, Chizik will do just fine, if the big money boosters will leave him alone!

I have a rigid with variable speed and dust collection, I have been really impressed with it.

I have a very nice little Makita 5" sander that does just fine. Two years ago it was only $60.

WATCH OUT Cheez-It has got his boys a NEW LIMO. I am sure if Wartiger had not donated his $$$ to that LIMO fund that he could own a Dewalt.

I have an aluminum bodied Craftsman, that my dad bought in the sixties. Same with drills, jig saw, circular saws.

Why did anybody get rid of one of those things? Bushings are replaceable.

DeWalt is made by Black and Decker. I shy away from that brand.

I love my Harbor freight Air Compressor, the motor croaked on it once I brought it back in (the store is just down the road from the house) Girl brings me a new one, away we go!

The finish nailer I got a few weeks ago there did a great job on a couple of "Honey Do" projects last weekend.

Not sure I would get a sander, saw or drill there though.
