My favorite is one I don't use; it's a Colt Single Action chambered in 45 Colt that was shipped to Austin, Texas in 1896.

If you can't feel the music; it's only pink noise!

I have a Beretta 92fs, italian made, stainless, pre-ban, night sights. I don't know that I would call it my favorite, but in thousands of rounds of shooting it has never had an issue. That is the only gun I can say that about.

    28-2 4" .357 Smith & Wesson Highway Patrolman.

As much as I love the M1911A1, I am a lefty, and I have had this gun longer than any of my 1911's.

It's my night table gun, and I trust my life with it.

Yes, it is ironic. My favorite is a Les Baer 45, and I can shoot much tighter groups with it, but I have to admit that it can be finicky about magazines, ammo, and how clean it is. But, the question said: pick up with complete confidence, and the Beretta stands out in my mind as being beyond reliable to the point of infallable.

Doesn't make it the most fun to shoot though.

This is probably my favorite. Colt Peacemaker 22 - found rusted up tight and given to me many years ago. Replaced only the parts needed to make it a fully useable. [:p][:)]

My inherited Danish made Krag Jorgensen, 8x58R from 1911 - all numbers matching, all original. With original ammo from 1966.

Shotgun... handbuilt J.P.Sauer & Sohn s/s 12gauge (12/70) from the early 80's. Very few shots through it.

I know that, once I say it, this gun will be named #1 by unanimous acclaim.

    The M96 Swedish Mauser.

Beautiful, reliable, and deadly accurate. Designed 114 years ago, still regarded as the best firearm ever made.

The go to gun right now is my Tikka T3 in 7mm Mag.

Mine was made local at a gun making shop at the old Ohio historical village by Jim Davis .

When I take to the woods there's a feeling of pride using the ole flintlock .

    Mvc-813f.jpg

Makes me smile to hunt with it , rather hard to put into words the feeling .

i like all of my weapons, but the number one for me is a number one ruger. she is a rare bull barrel stock No1 in 7mm mag and has wood on it that looks like a beautiful girl's hair. oddly enough, this has been my rifle since I was 16 and my dad never lets it out of his safe unless I'm home and using it for whitetail or with him practicing. this is the only rifle I shoot left handed only. I write left handed and do everything else with both hands including golf, bows etc. My bolt actions are usually shot right handed unless it's a difficult, long shot. This ruger is about as neutral as a rifle can get for left or right handed people. Since I'm both L&R this rifle is perfect. It taught me how to make the shot count at a very early age. My dad knew I was a fire ball from hell so he limited my ammo to one in the chamber and three in different pockets to save weight, less noise and no bullet damage. Dad was kinda funny about precision. I have shot it with confidence so many times that I only need to test the rifle one shot before the season and can catch the brass after throwing the block down with the same hand. poop you not! If it's brown, it's down. Running, jumping, hiding... If I have my ruger No1.. it's over. Deer do not shoot back and one is all you need. :)

Some day when my old man passes on to a better place, I will get the rifle from him. I can use it whenever I want, and I even asked him if I could take it home with me to Montana. He just smiles and says, "Not yet!" I have never seen another one with this barrel on it. We have been looking for years. And only a handful I have see have the fit, finish and wood of this rifle. I'd post a photo of her, but it's in my dad's save thousands of miles away! :(

    I have 3. Ruger 10/22, Rem. M870, and my Rem. M700 .308 HBAR.

Never an issue with any of these. Pull the trigger, they go "bang" every time.
