I got a call from OldeMagics this evening...

Seems his old HP Pavilion 500 is DOA...

He's thinking it's the processor... An HP Intel Celeron 2GB

I spoke to my eldest son (the electrical genius) and he believes it could simply be the fan and/or heat sink...

But, if the processor over-heated, it could be damaged...

OldeMagics is looking for a possible replacement processor and/or fan and heat sink...

He currently has NO internet access 'cept through the library and that provides strictly NO access to GB (a Gun Web Site)...

He's asking for any info I can relay to him...

    How does one turn off the "sleep" mode, and keep the desktop showing all the time ??

    1) Please tell me how to remove the Norton suite that comes as part of Vista on my new laptop.

    2) I would like to completely remove Internet Explorer from both my Vista machine and my XP machine. Can it be done at all ?? And if so, can it be done without wrecking anything else ??

    ...I want to replace a Lenova Tower , with something else...The Tower keeps dropping web sites...and,it has been sick a few times...still works, but I like to spend money...I use a 32 inch TV set for a monitor...

    I can usually solve most of the problems, but this one I cant....We have been doing a scan and defrag on Classics comp, and it just wont finish saying something is writing to the drive...Now, I know what is doing it....its Explorer..but how do I stop it?....

    Nothing works....he is running windows millinium (sp)


    Blackroses on my comp but too lazy to log classic off...

    Get a lap top they all have a port to plug to your TV for big screen if thats your thing...
