new addition to family

had to put my lab down two years ago because of age. hardest damn thing i ever had to do.
figured it was time for a new companion, so........ put a deposit down on a new pup, will be ready in about seven weeks. sable german shepard akc. here,s a pic of the dad

anyone have any experience with the shepards? good or bad. with me being on the road a lot, I wanted my wife to have something more then her lapdog around to keep the boogeymen out

    wife has new "baby", 6 wk old aus. blue heeler/border collie mix
    less than 24 hrs in the house and spoiled already!
    maybe now i wont hear the "lets have another baby" bababooey any more, with the youngest a few weeks away from 20 i SURE dont want to start that crap again!

    Congrats, I had a border collie once, great dog all the way to the end. Never had another dog like good ole Yankee.
