Just had a family tragedy (Need to vent)

Well, I flew from home out here to Oklahoma yesterday to attend the funeral of my grandfather. Funeral is tomorrow. We had to put my grandmother (who is suffering from a rapid onset of Alzheimer's) in a nursing home last week. Now, just two hours ago, my grandparent's house burned down. Actually, about half of the house was saved from the fire, but what didn't burn has significant water/smoke damage. I'm not pleading for sympathy here, guys (and gals), but do me a favor...say a prayer for us tonight.

    Their fruitful lives hopefully amended for the situation now.

    So often one spouse loses it much more quickly after the loss of the other.
    Such was the case of my Grandfather and my barber.

    On the house, it would have been better to burn to the ground?
    I know I'd rather have a totaled house than a half-burned house.
    Unless we are talking all the momentalsfrom a lifetime which you wished to save.

    Best of luck on the nerves. It is always a better day tomorrow (or maybe ...next week).

    what do you want us to pray for exactly and you got it. blanket prayers arent as powerful as specific's. [;)] i want you to have the best. sounds like youre family is walking thru the valley of the shadow of death.
    be of good cheer....youre all walking and its only the shadow.
    call me anytime and type away. as you may know, im caring for my dieing father and commute 500 miles every month to check on him. one month in conn one month in va.. the impossible can be done in times like this. God made you to be able. death and tragedy are lessons we must face in life. how we perform is watched by others as lessons for when its their turn. try to think of how the others youve known made it and realize you will too. its not easy to explain in words, but if you listen to my heart, you will understand. now email me and we will talk.[^]

    Thanks for all the kind words and prayers. Today was a rough day. Not only did we have the funeral, we had to tell Grandmother that her house burned. I'm flying back to Nashville tomorrow. From there, I only have a one hour drive home. Can't wait to get home and hug the wife and three-year old son. Bobski--you'll have an e-mail inbound once I can get to my home computer. Thanks again, guys! It sure is a great feeling to have a "virtual family" in here.

    The rough part is over, or subsided, for now.

    My wife asks what I do on the dozen forums I scan ...
