Mower question.

I used my riding mower last week. Ran fine. Now it won't start.
Checked plug, looks good.
Drained the gas and put in fresh gas. Still no go.
Only thing I can figure is maybe a carb problem. Can you use carb cleaner on mower carbs? It's a 15HP Briggs.

    Yup.

    Battery? Clogged fuel line/filter?

Bunch of safety that could do it too. Like seat safety, depending on age Blade safety.

The safety stuff would keep the spark plug from doing it's job.

So unless your a little more specific on what's doing and not doing it's hard to get specific.

Fuel (can be bypassed with starting fluid), spark (pull spark plug and ground the plug and turn over the motor).

    Simple process of elimination.

I ain't never seen nuthin like this on a mower.
Went out and sprayed carb cleaner in it. It would fire up and run as long I kept the cleaner coming (in short sprays). Finally it just took off and ran fine. Mowed my yard and started on daughters yard across the street. Got well into it and mower started cutting out. Drove it back home. When I killed it I heard a wierd noise coming from the carb. Took air cleaner off and the carb was filling w/gas to the point I could see the gas in the bowl. And the gas was BOILING!
I disconnected fuel line. And when I left, it was still boiling out the gas in the carb.
    Anyone ever seen this?!!!!!

Yep, looks like it's time to put it in the shop. Or maybe just get a new one.
At any rate, looks like it wasn't mean't to be for me to mow today. Started finishing up w/the push mower, and a wheel broke!

crud in the carb. get it cleaned, change fuel filter. If you dont HAVE a fuel filter, put one in the fuel line.

Make sure you are getting fuel to the carb. I have seen alot of fuel line turn to goo and plug up recently.

Had a lot of rain lately, like between the last mowing and this? WATER in fuel? The carb cleaner kept it running until it sucked down all that WAS in the bowl.
