On our way back from Lubbock, TX to Fargo, ND we passed a slough that had a beaver lodge in it. I pointed it out to my wife and here is the conversation...
Wife: I wonder if you can eat beaver?
Me: I've been known to from time to time. (Attempting to not laugh)
Wife: I bet their fur keeps them warm.
Me: (all I could do was bite my lip till it bled) (it worked for awhile until I had to pull over from laughing)

Soooo.... I read the conversation to her and all I get is a blank stare... Had to go through each and every syllable before she finally "UNDERSTOOD" what I was saying............

Heck I worked in beaver PA last year. Didn't smell anything like I thought it would.[:D]
Of all the "varmint" type critters it is the best.
