Back on the rolls of the unemployed

Called in right at noon and was let go. The still sagging economy was the reason.

Last man hired 1st one to be let go, I was not the only one leaving today.

Drafter's work shouldn't be too tough to come by, but it depends a lot on the area you're in. Where are you again?

If I had been with the company longer I would not have gotten the Ins. But this did not fully catch me by surprise.

Just looked over a few places and there are a few other jobs available. So will update the Resume and get a few out this weekend.

One of My Instructors from College Just e-mailed me to let me know she would keep an ear out for jobs.

I worked with another student that graduated with me, he had been there for a few months before me and he contacted her.

    Great to have contacts.

The cost of programs is really up there. Also without having a reputation to work from getting jobs would be a bear.

Keep your chin up. If I recall you were working at a place doing helicopter parts?

Bell Helicopter is here in DFW and Eurocopter has offices here as well.

If you do drafting look into "checker" or design assurance jobs as well.

I am about to say to hell with aerospace and defense work because the energy guys are making so much money it maybe worth jumping ship.

You might consider looking at energy companies too.

    Grump,

Where are you located?? In my day job, I recruit and place engineers, designers, and drafters. What CAD package do you use??

I'm in Tulsa, OK, and I have a very high demand for entry level to seasoned designers and drafters. I place drafters starting around $20/hour, but seasoned designers with CadWorx can bring $50/hour with all the overtime they can stand. Also, I need electrical engineers or techs with PLC experience for positions around the country, mainly oil & gas related jobs.

    PM me for details. DD

while you are looking, you should do some drawing using your talent. pencil drawings of famous buildings and the big homes of the well to do are money makers.

I do art stuff a lot but I can't bring myself to sell any of it.

but I do psycodellic art mostly - and I make custom painted tables from ammo boxes and other items.
