    IIRC, Roosevelt eliminated the pauper clause, before that if you were on assistance, or in the poorhouse, you could not vote.

    i'm ok with those who meet the Constitutional qualifications running for and holding the position of President, however, that person should hold true to the exact letter of the Consitution and not let it be watered down as Congress has been doing. they should also hold the other branches just as accountable to the Constitution as they are and enforce the fact that they are answerable to the people of THIS country and no one else.
