concealed carry laws

has anybody heard anything about a new gun law in Texas stating that if you are of legal age and you are not a convicted felon that you can carry a gun without a permit. i would like to know, has anyone heard anything about this ? it's supposedly going to take effect Sept. 1 of this year.any info is appreciated.

Never heard of it. I live in Texas and have my concealed license but have never heard of such a thing. They are probably talking about carrying in your vehicle, not on yourself.[?]

Nothing on it at www.packing.org so I would tend to say there is no changes. I have found that there site is very up on these matters and if it were true it would be listed.
