type 99 sniper

I have a butchered type 99 Jap sniper that I got from a freinds barn.
The stock is hosed as are the sights and upper tang ext.
The scope base is there and the bolt matches the action and the bore looks pretty good, who here knows where a good home is for this poor ugly thing.

In my rifle rack, next to my M1.[:D][;)]

Make it a wall hanger till ya get it viewed by an expert. I know just enough that some 99's towards the end of the war were safer to be in front of them than the back of them.[:)]

How about a pic?? See how bad it is? Horror stories abound..[V] about valuable rifles neglected..

Wow. a giveaway. Evidently you have NO IDEA how valuable it is. I once bought a mismatched Arisaka junker at a flea market for $50. Later learned that the STRIPPED bent bolt I had thought was a bubba job was an ORIGINAL sniper bolt. As I said it was a mismatch to the rest of the rifle. I sold that STRIPPED bolt for $275. And the buyer was THRILLED to get it.
My guess is what you have is worth AT LEAST TWICE that. I bet the original scope rail is worth several hundred BY ITSELF!

Would you really want him too if he did it not knowing what he had?
If he does now, it'll be that much more generous.

It would appear the giveaway has been retracted.
