No charges,just a bunch of crap.What really happend is that I came home from work and saw a groundhog across the road in the field.I came in the house and got my mod.7 223 to try and shoot it. Apparently some woman driving by saw me with a gun and got excited and called the law.After spending about an hour across the road in the woods looking for mushrooms and still carrying my gun.I walked across an open field for about 250yrds and noticed a cop car blocking the road about 80yrds from my house.Wondering what was up I came back across the road and put my gun in my car and went back to the road to watch all the cruisers running around,6 of them total.
So then I came in the house and asked my wife if she knew what was up,but she didn't.Next thing I know shes saying theres 6 cops across the road at my neibors with guns drawn.So I went back outside and asked the one at the end of my driveway with a shot gun if there was something going on that I should be alarmed about.He looks over his shoulder and asked if I saw anyone with a rifle earlier.I said yea,me and he about poop.So then they all come over to me giving me a blast of crap about the situation being my fault and how they shut down the road.Needless to say,I gave right back to them and told them they needed to give their caller the blast of poop for being so stupid.
Anyway they patted me down,checked my gun,took my info and left.

Any police that respond in rural areas would not overreact like that.

I was assigned to rural areas, and to towns, and there is a difference between the response to both areas on that type of call.

Also persons that do not fit a description do not get guns pointed at them.

The sad part is, it will continue to happen, more and more, as the wacko media spreads it's filth. The sight of a man carrying any type of hand or long gun strikes fear in the hearts of the unenlightened.
