Just got this email. It's a bit too late for me to go since I'm working all day, but if you can...

GRNC Alert 03-31-10:

ObamaCare Lawsuit and Charlotte Visit

In this Alert:

1. Tea Party Response to Obama Charlotte Visit Friday

2. Attorney General Roy Cooper and the ObamaCare Lawsuit

OBAMA IN CHARLOTTE FRIDAY

In response to President Obama's visit to Charlotte on Friday, the
national Tea Party movement it planning a protest that day. Obama's
itinerary has changed in response to protest plans. Initially he had
planned to speak at Central Piedmont Community College, but after
learning of Tea Party plans to protest, the engagement was moved to
Celgard Battery near Carowinds. By staging the event at a private
company, the administration can shut the protestors out.

In response to this, the current plans are to gather at noon on the
sidewalks of the intersection of South Tryon St. and Carowinds Blvd.
Their Facebook page states: "This is probably the closest that we can
get to the event, and the motorcade will have to pass by." They
further remind those able to be in attendance: "The media will be
there, so everyone be on your best behavior, even if counterprotest
show up. Remember, this needs to be about the message and NOT the
messenger. Please hand carry respectful signs, and dress the success
that you are."

They note that earlier reports that they still plan to stage their
protest at the Grady Cole Center at CPCC is out of date and incorrect.

ATTORNEY GENERAL COOPER, WHEREFORE ART THOU?

After Congress passed the Socialist ObamaCare "reform" measures
contrary to the overwhelming will of the American people, it is now
being challenged in court by 14 states. Why hasn't NC Attorney General
Roy Cooper added our state to that number? Could it be party loyalty
trumps the good of the people of North Carolina?

As an organization devoted to the defense and preservation of the
U.S. Constitution, Grass Roots North Carolina now urges you to act in
your own best interests and call for AG Cooper to join the suit.

Just two days following President Obama's signing of the
unprecedented government power grab, 14 states' attorneys general have
filed suit challenging the constitutionality of forcing its citizens
to buy a particular product; in this case health insurance. "The
Constitution nowhere authorizes the United States to mandate, either
directly or under threat of penalty, that all citizens and legal
residents have qualifying health care coverage," the lawsuit challenge
contends.

IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED

* If you are able to be in Charlotte on Friday, please add your voice
to those of the Tea Party members who will be representing you there.

* Contact Attorney General Roy Cooper and urge his participation in
this lawsuit. (919) 716-6400;

Dear Attorney General Cooper:

The unconstitutional ObamaCare power grab cannot be allowed to stand.
I insist that you add North Carolina to the lawsuit currently filed by
14 other states. It is time to be a true statesman and put the people
before party.

Are you an American and a North Carolinian first or does this place
second to your loyalty to the Democratic Party? It is time to choose.
Add our state to the lawsuit.

Sincerely,

A concerned North Carolina Voter
