This is a semi rare black 686. I paid too much for it, but this is the first I've come across and a quick search revealed no comparisons.
I've heard the finish on these guns is somewhat temperamental, has anyone owned one who can advise? this one is mint but you can see where it has been holstered on the forward high edges

a little filtz polish will take all that black crap off, pix of my 586
yeah, but there are lots of regular 686's...I like the 586 too, they are about as close to a python as smith ever made
