    That is one possibility.

    However, after several days of deliberation, I have come up with the most likely reason:

    People of Middle Eastern decent were not casted on Star Trek. They've been p*ssed off at us ever since Chris Pike took the Enterprise to Talos 4.

    Every other major culture was represented on the show, including the Russians, who we were pitted against in the middle of the cold war arms race at the time of the Original Series.

    Coincidence? I think not.
