These "submissive/collectivist" believe that these regulations and limitation apply to everyone not just themselves. They want to limit or regulate those behaviours they feel are a threat to society or themselves.

Started long before the ten commandments

They do not feel like they are adding restrictions on their behaviour they are only trying to prevent others from doing things that they did care to do anyway.

Like making prostitution illegal, they did not plan to use a prostitute, or be a prostitute, don't want their children to be or use prostitutes. Would be happy if there were no prostitutes. So why not make it illegal.
