Knife Carrying in Michigan

Is it legal to carry a Neck Knife in Michigan. I thought about just going to the local police station and asking them. But I thought they might get suspicious.

    I would not do that. You may end up with them serving a search warrant on your house, and or kicking the heck out of you. Not a good idea.

    Michigan -750.226... Carrying with unlawful intent
    Any person who, with intent to use the same unlawfully
    against the person of another, goes armed with a pistol
    or other firearm or dagger, dirk, razor, stiletto, or
    knife having a blade over 3 inches in length, or any
    other dangerous or deadly weapon or instrument, shall
    be guilty of a felony, punishable by imprisonment in
    the state prison for not more than 5 years or by a fine
    of not more than 2,500 dollars.

    That makes it sound like that if you don't
    intend to use it unlawfully, your good to go.
    however the law might not see it that way.

    My brother was going to drill and was pulled over by the MI State Police and he had a Kbar tucked in the small of his back. She let him go with a warning for having it concealed, but I am sure if he did not have his USMC ID with him, he would have been tossed in jail.

    Everyones leaving here anyway. No need to visit unless you like ghost towns...

    Oh,and the knife thing..don`t.Had a friend arrested many years ago for carrying a conceiled knife.

    I asked a Policeman friend if carrying a concealed biggish knife was covered by my CHL.

    "No, I'd have to arrest you".

    CHL means "Concealed Handgun License", here in OryGun.

    I asked him to please have his cute redheaded partner cuff me and slap me around, gently.

    No luck.

    He also said that most OryGun Policemen wouldn't hassle you for it, if you had a CHL. Claimed that they could think as well as a Citizen.

    Florida has a CCW which is "Concealed Carry Weapon" license.
    We can carry about anything you can think of,......as long as it is concealed!
