The business location of these cannons seems quite appropriate.

Years back my eldest brother owned a small cannon. Built by a local machinist. He got it in trade for rebuilding an engine.

About three feet long, smooth bore of about an inch or so, don't quite recall. On a mount intended to be bolted to a deck. Was said to be a replica of a type of "deck gun" used on sailing ships. Some of those had a pike that could be set in slots along the rails, then pivoted in a gimbal mount to sweep the decks.

He'd give it a black powder charge and set it off for Fourth of July and New Years. Heck of a boom and a real blast of flame at night!

    Good fun.

Eventually he traded or sold it for other gun stuff.
