What joyfilled number did they begin demanding?

You forgot to deduct your $1.00 hand written check charge.

You know what really drives them nuts (other then not paying)???

Send them a check or postal money order for the full amount plus a few cents extra...

If the bill is $124.40 remit $124.43

Their computers crash - the sums don't balance - they are often legaly obligated to reimburse you.

    It makes them bugs*h*i*t* crazy.

If and when they do send you a check don't cash it - or return it to them requesting an itemized statement delivered to you via certified mail - signature required.

    Sigh

Funny that you mention that Mike. About 50 years ago I received a letter from the IRS saying that I made an error on my return and owed them a couple of hundred or so. This is back when I did everything by hand and there were many more deductions available since we didn't have so many illegals sucking the money away. I looked at my numbers and discovered that I did make a mistake. I recalculated and found that there was an error but in doing so the IRS actually owed me $0.67. I asked for a refund check, received it, and still have it framed on my den wall!
It's too late for me, save yourself.
