been three years since my wife and i purchesed our first home and finaly got the bench finished. now all i need are the reloading gear[:D]

Very nice, but I prefer 1 1/2" for a loading bench top (3/4" ply x 2 + chromed hardboard for a top surface)
If needed, he can beef it up with a chunk of 2x4 on the bottom side

True, My Rockchucker needs about 1 1/2" of "under the bench top" clearance on the up stroke of the ram

Very nice! But, as others have noted, you will likely need to cut out a section of the stringer just below the top to allow your press to have a full stroke because it's going to hit.
Another option would be to take a piece of 2x6 (minimally) and catilever it off the top. If you do it right you could make it removable, just remember that you need to account for both downward and upward forces.
I happen to know someone who has about the nicest workspace I've ever seen. Maybe when he reads this he'll post a photo or two of his multi-station setup. Maybe.
