Bringin my Kimber Custom Target II, Colt Trooper MK III and an M-44 carbine might see if I can do a little trading. I'd love to find a Series 70 Gold Cup or Delta Elite. But we'll see, I will probably end up coming home with what I brought, which is ok too.

Hillsville or bust!!!

I was gonna wear my Obama is a socialist T-shirt but the bride frowned on that one! She prefer I be a tad more discreet in my views, i was thinking Hillsville would be an appropriate environment to wear it! Hell I am likely to get a much better deal!!!

I've avoided putting it on GB because I don't want to deal with shipping, it is such a hassle. Now don't go getting my thread locked, I am not trying to sell it here, like I said I am not interested in dealing with shipping it.

    http://www.hillsville.com/fmarket.htm

It started out as a Gunshow at the VFW and now it is a a fleamarket that spans the entire town, over 500,000 people will pass through it this labor Day Week end. The gun show is not impressive, but lots of guns around, lots of private sellers with tables through out the fleamarket. It is one of th4e largest fleamarkets in the country.

Didn't buy or trade any guns...but I did pick up a cool handmade knife out of a railroad spike. Nice little handmade addition to my knife collection.

It is when UPS is a 30 mile drive out of my way. It is much simpler to sell it locally.

I didn't see much in the way of high end handguns today, was hoping to see more.

Just add a meal and gas to the shipping. Then make a day out of it [:D]. As for me I just drop a gun off at my smith's and pay what he tells me.

yeah $40-50 to ship once you pay a FFL their fee and the shipping. I've sold several on GB a few years ago. It is certainly safer than FTF, but not as easy.

He had so many to choose from I really had a hard time picking one. there were some that were twisted more, but this one had the most character. Each one had its own shaped blade, and being a railroad spike its got heft. its not really something I will ever use, but display.

BTW you know how much it costs to get into the VFW for the gun show"? $1...not so bad compared to most gunshows. Of course you have to pay $5 to park close in someone's yard but still it is refreshing that its cost the same for 15 plus years...$1

We didn't stay as long this year, the wife's ankle is bothering her. So I didn't go up the hill on the west side, though I don't recall seeing many guns up there in the past. There were some guns down in the "bowman" and "hunley" fields. Mostly hunting rifles and shotguns.

A guy had #6 of 1000 Henry special edition "virginian" .22 lr rifles that peaked my interest but I ended up passing on it.

There were alot more people there this year then last year so I hope all the venders do well!! I could spend alot more time there but I am limited by my wife's physical capabilities.
