...posting have done so because they are no longer alive?

I am afraid longhunter is one that disappeared for that reason. Wonder who else?

A good illustration of why it's important to put specific instruction in your will about what you want your survivors to do for you.

It would be worse if they kept posting after they died.

I have thought about this also though. I'm sure that if I were to die tomorrow, noone in my family would think to post my demise.

I didn't want to quit posting when I died, but Admin made me stop until I could safely be removed from the machinery. Since I have improved to merely nearly dead I have begun posting again and hope to continue for some time.

My wife once saw a posting by a family member of a deceased person. She read it to me. It was a rather sad note.

i miss swapping messages with suburban noise, i sure hope he isn`t dead.
when he was working nights we often seemed to be the only two on the forums, it passed the time to have a yarn with him.

he`s the only one on these forums that i told about my "plan b"...
he was a nice bloke to talk to on here.

Yep, sure miss Josey's posts. I don't think that anyone knows for sure that Josey passed on, but he had some serious health problems.

If anybody knows for sure, please let us know.

Longhunter still pops in, although rarely, been almost a year but still hold hope for him.

    I remember Ronnie and Ruffit.

On a resurrection of an old post Josey was mentioned..one of the mods' (I think) said he didn't survive his cancer. I'll try to recall the post, and if successful, will post the link below as an amendment. Best, Joe
    EDIT:
As promised, link below is where I read the reference to Josey1. Thanks for being patient. Here's the link:

I see Ronald Snow hasn't posted since 1/30. His last post said he had been in the hospital:

Ronald Snow was released from the hospital.
He went home and died the next day from a heart attack, a couple days after he made that post.

Perhaps something nice can come from this rather sad post.

Mods - How about having a sticky of a list of our members that have passed? Kind of like a memorial.

    Don't say that, Chris!
Nobody knows what happened to HeDog, and his email is unlisted.

Don't think anyone would notice but if you don't see a post from me for about three months then next time you are at the range blast one toward the target for me.

While I feel 18's pain, I still think my idea has merit. What better way for new members to know of the the past members and perhaps their posts.

Mods - How long are inactive members kept in the members list?

Gents- on a serious note- while I am now a semi-retired man of leisure slurping at the trough of govt retirement, I did spend some years doing things that left the question open of whther you were gonna get to come home for dinner- ever.

BESIDES having a will (and a living will), and BESIDES having a power of attorney (and medical POA) for a trusted family member- In the front of the top drawer of the filing cabinet, red folder, labeled DAD'S GONE.

Instructions for funeral (cremate me, load into some low brass 7 1/2s, so I can make one last dove season) AND- here is a list of insurance assets, here is a list of investments, here are a list of on-line accts, here is a list of remote old friends and their addresses, AND- 3 internet forums, screen names and passwords- please let the guys know I finally got what was coming.

While what does in YOUR folder will be different from mine, you should have one. Makes things a lot easier on your family.

I'm thinking it wasn't death that drove away a lot of the posters; it was the strident, shrill, incomprehensible rage exhibited by a few self-acclaimed explainers of the Constitution that did it.

He Dog is still around, I'll see him at the next gun show.
