My SIL texted me asking for some help picking out a gun to give her husband, my brother, for Christmas. She's since found out that he would like a 17 HMR. I have a Savage with Accutrigger that is a tack driver the few times I've shot it, but she looked at the website of a big box sporting goods store and found a Mossberg 817 in that caliber and it's pretty cheap. Anyone on here have any experience with one of these? I'm sure if it's accurate and reliable that it would be just fine with him. Anybody?
