SIG 556 On the Way

My son bought one about 6 months ago. I've shot it a few times and I've gotta say, it is sweeeet.

I am due a sabbatical and opted for 2 weeks off and 2 weeks pay. The check came in yesterday and I went and bought a SIG 556 earlier today.

Sorry GB, but is was from a "sister site". Couldn't pass up the price.[:I]

Should be in late next week.

Anybody have one and if so, what do you think?

    Yes they do.

The other thing I liked about my son's, was that it is a gas piston design and it has been ultra reliable and easy to clean.

Not getting all that residue and carbon build-up in the mechanism is a good thing.

Congrats on the 556, I have it on my "wish list". Did you get the std or the SWAT model?

I went with the standard. I don't need all the rails and fancy wazoo fixtures.

I plan on putting a Trijicon TriPower on it.

Counting the days till it gets here. Should be perfect timing, since I start my sabbatical leave next Saturday. Plenty of time for the range then.
