My son bought one about 6 months ago. I've shot it a few times and I've gotta say, it is sweeeet.
I am due a sabbatical and opted for 2 weeks off and 2 weeks pay. The check came in yesterday and I went and bought a SIG 556 earlier today.
Sorry GB, but is was from a "sister site". Couldn't pass up the price.[:I]
Should be in late next week.
Anybody have one and if so, what do you think?

I do not have one, will they take regular AR mags?
Yes they do.
The other thing I liked about my son's, was that it is a gas piston design and it has been ultra reliable and easy to clean.
Not getting all that residue and carbon build-up in the mechanism is a good thing.
Cuteracingirl put me up to it, "with her posting a picture showing her "very sexy, near naked 556 laying across her bed"
.[:D][:D]
Like somekind of sex object[:p][:p]
Scoped mine with a $225 Nikon 3x9-40 on QD's, extras.
Need a bipod? dont know yet.
Been in the safe, since, unfired.
But I did touch it today.
This is the best 2 days, (back pain) I have had in about4 months.
So out trolln GB
Aint shot anything since last June.

Congrats on the 556, I have it on my "wish list". Did you get the std or the SWAT model?
I went with the standard. I don't need all the rails and fancy wazoo fixtures.
I plan on putting a Trijicon TriPower on it.
Counting the days till it gets here. Should be perfect timing, since I start my sabbatical leave next Saturday. Plenty of time for the range then.
We WILL need a range report. [;)][:D][:D]
and pics for those of us who cannot afford one!!!
What kind of dollars do they run?
You can pick one up in the $1200 range and up of course.
