A North Fort Myers couple has been arrested on charges they used a 4-year-old Polk County girl to make child porn.
Alan Alan Johnson, 33, and Jennifer Sparks, 37, were charged Wednesday in Lee County with sexual battery on a victim under 12, promoting sexual performance by a child and possession of child pornography.
Authorities say an investigation began after someone found Johnson's camera phone in a shopping cart at a Wal-Mart store in Cape Coral and turned it in. The phone allegedly contained numerous images of the girl that were sexual in nature and constituted child pornography.
Investigators ran a search on the phone number and traced it to Johnson. The name of a detective assigned to the Lee County Sheriff's Office's sexual predator unit was listed as a contact in the phone, and that detective recognized Johnson as a man listed as a sexual offender.
A search of the home Johnson shared with Sparks uncovered evidence of the couple engaging in sex acts with the little girl, as well as other images from cell phone, investigators said. Johnson has served prison time on charges related to child pornography.
Detectives traced the girl to Polk County, and she is now in the custody of Department of Child and Families. Investigators are trying to determine how she ended up with the couple.
According to a Facebook page, Johnson and Sparks run a website that sells sex toys.
