    Lord it is good to have an American as president again. Trump is an American, not by right of birth, but by choice. And it is good to have a leader that puts America first.

    We were watching FOX and the entire audience was panned several times. Part way thru switched to ABC and they did not pan the audience much at all.

    What irked me more was Chuck Slimmers comments afterwards. When asked about the olive branch extended to the Democratic party and the offer to compromise on some of the issues he flatly stated they didn't care about that they were still going to block every move the legislators try and make.

    The Press should be attacking the Democrats for refusing to try and advance ANY agenda
    Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

    Nut Not sure about Debbie Wasserman Schultz? Representative from Florida since 2013,, guess this will be her last term.

    An excellent speech, I agree, and though the tribute the widow was the most emotional, it was a good part of the speech, but not the best part.

    IMO, the best part was when he stated 'It is not my job to represent the world. It is my job to represent America.' This statement contains a lot, particularly given the tone he presented. Firstly, the comment is correct. The responsibility of the President is to America, and not the rest of the world. Secondly, and more importantly, was how he emphasized the word 'job'. When he said it, though I didn't feel a tingle down my leg, I got the distinct impression that he was approaching the position of President of the United States as a job, not just a position. A job that has practical applications and tasks that need to be undertaken.

    His predecessor seemed to believe that simply being Obama and being in the White House was enough. Trump seems to believe that he was asked, and is tasked, to put in an honest day's work.
