Other than the serial number... There's nothing on separate parts to identify mates.
That 323 is likely what ties all the mating parts together to keep mis-matched pieces from occurring.
I didn't know if it was a numbered series or limted run or what.
Not an easy gun to research.
S&W still shows it in their catalog, but I haven't seen too many of them being bought and sold these days.
