HOW is this possible? (electronics rant)

I was shopping around for a new digital camera and needed an SDHC memory card also...

well at Best Buy there are 2 models:
PNY and Sandisk...
PNY is made in Japan: a nation known for building quality electronics (and autos, although I refuse to admit that part)
Sandisk is made in China: a nation known for building RUBBISH

the 4GB sandisk card is $10 more than the 4GB PNY...how the heck???
not that I'm unhappy buying the Japanese memory card for less, but just how is that even possible???

    in many cases it's not cheaper to sell junk, particularly when you are required to have a limite liability warranty on your product.
