Is there any food any better than fresh sweet corn just pulled from the field and served with bbq pork chops?

Yes, shave the corn off the cob and fry it in bacon drippings and/or butter and chopped up bacon! [:p]

I smoke my corn on the cob in my smoker when I'm smoking meat. So good, you'll never boil or roast corn again! Takes an hour to an hour and a half.

    I prefer field corn[:D]

When I was in high school I took care of the irrigation wells on our farms. When "roasting ear" season started it was my job to bring in a mess of ears for dinner and supper.

15 minutes from field to plate -- now that's FRESH!!![8D]

It's hard to mess up fresh sweet corn. Silver Queen is my favorite.

    +1000

The local farmer we get our corn from switched to Silver Queen in 2000 and now has 10 acres of it just to try and keep up with the demand.

Went to the State Farmers Mkt. this week and when we got home, wife put some corn in the pressure cooker. I think it takes a couple of minutes. Really good, fresh tomatoes and corn on the cob. [:p]

Certainly and the list is long. Here's a small sampling:
    ice cream
    berries
    melon
    cinnamon rolls
    steak
    mashed potatoes
    bourbon
    pie
    cake
    Shiner Bock
    caramelized onions
    chocolate
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

if you ever pull one off the stalk and eat it raw on the spot, you'll eat it raw every chance you get.

We have that for dinner as often as we can during the season. The local farmer has his corn right next to the roadstand and will let you go pick the ears you want. A couple of good 'maters out of the garden sliced up, and dinner is served.
