he safety and security of the mail is our top priority. The Mail Security and Hazardous Materials Programs provide a safe environment for our customers, employees, and the traveling public. For more information, see frequently asked questions.

    What is a Hazardous Material?
Hazardous materials come in a wide variety of forms and can be chemical, biological, radioactive, or a combination thereof. If a material or substance can cause harm to someone or something, it can be considered a hazardous material.

The Postal Service's definition of a hazardous material includes many common household and consumer products. These items may not be hazardous during normal use or storage in your home but can present a significant hazard when placed in the mail due to vibration, temperature changes, and variations in atmospheric pressure.

Some examples of commonly-used items restricted or considered hazardous under USPS regulations include:

    Perfumes
    Nail polish
    Flea collars or flea sprays
    Aerosols
    Bleach
    Pool chemicals
    Paints
    Matches
    Batteries
    Fuels or gasoline
    Airbags
    Dry ice
    Mercury thermometers
    Cleaning supplies
    Items previously containing fuel
    Glues
    Fireworks

Other items, such as alcoholic beverages (beer, wine, liquor), are not considered hazardous but are prohibited and boxes displaying such markings are also prohibited.

If you are unsure whether a material is considered hazardous or is prohibited, please contact 1-800-ASK-USPS or your local Business Mail Entry Unit.

According to the USPS, you cannot ship alcohol.

just fyi, spirits dont age in the bottle. they can degrade(read get worse) but as a rule dont get better.

wine is chemically very different and therefore reacts differently to storage, so it can and does age in the bottle.

the "aged xx years" refers the the amount of time it was aged prior to bottling when "aging" essentially stops. sure technically its 38 year old whiskey, but its only been aged 7 years if that makes sense.

Sorry to say it won't be a day more aged than the day it was decanted. (put in the bottle) Whisky stops aging the minute it is removed from the wood barrel it was aged in. Unlike wine aging in distilled drinks is a byproduct of the charcoaled insides of the wooden barrel

I think it's nice of you to offer, and I'll bet its smooth drinking,
but since your unemployed and job hunting, I think you'd be better
off selling it on e-bay. You may get a pretty penny for it.
    Thanks for offer thou.
I have a friend who sells old toaster ovens she finds and cleans
up. also other items. You might start a mail order business.
I noticed your photograph was really good. Mouse
