new posts are good. repeats are a waste of bandwidth.
whats the point of rehashing the same old tired garbage?
new posts are good. repeats are a waste of bandwidth.
If authors waited to write books until after they had read every other book in the library there would be no books.
also, it doesnt take half a day. usually, it takes <1 minute.
Also there are members who have more recently arrived who may not have seen the earlier posts and would have no reason to search archives for a topic they have not considered yet.

That is Sage advice. Don
There are two viewpoints here, equally valid.
One says that people must learn everything themselves, so what is previously known to other people has to be constantly re-presented.
The opposing view is that for everyone but the one doing the learning, re-presentation is a bore and a waste of time.
(As a sidenote, I predict it won't be long before yet another oblivious mouth breather posts that 2007 USA Today poll for the forty-leventh time. Sigh...)
