Easy are you a liberal (left twist) or conservative (right twist). Half and half is reserved for transgenders.

All jesting aside, A Salt Lake City custom gunsmith used to make Ruger Blackhawks in 45-70. He based the twist on whether you were right or left-handed. Why? Because the recoil and torque were so intense that with the right twist, the gun would come up and back past your head. With the wrong twist, it would come back right into your face.

The gun HAD to be shot one-handed, and held with only a medium grip. Two-handed or with a death grip, and the gun would recoil straight back. I witnessed one guy who shot it two-handed. We took him to the emergency room with the hammer spur embedded neatly in the center of his forehead.

    A 350-gr slug at 1350 fps is, well...a handfull.
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.
