The wife just wiped out Firefox UPDATED...

Man this pisses me off. The wife was doing a search for a Ruger something or another and clicked on a link that was a virus or something. A page popped up telling her that she had all these viruses...she "tried to cancel out of that, and then tried shutting the window". After using control, alt, delete, she was finally able to exit the program...she then ran all of my clean up/anti-spyware programs (which she has absolutely no idea how to run) and she successfully wiped Firefox completely clean...no bookmarks, no passwords, no add-ons, no extensions...NO NOTHING!

In any case, I have Mozbackup and I created a back up restore point on Sept. 11th, but for some reason it will not restore the lost items...it runs like it's restoring them, but they are not restored.

I was using that add on that backup'ed your stuff to an online website (Firefox site)...does anyone remember what that site is called so that I can try to retrieve my data? I also had some kind of password/bookmark add on that I downloaded that was supposed to store these in case of this kind of event...anyone know how I can find it???

Thanks!

UPDATE: Thank God for X-Marks! I think I have most everything back!

    1) tell the wife not to surf porn!

    2) if you had a mac, time machine would have saved you.

    I haven't been much help, have I?
    (I'm just playing Eric!)

I have a feeling he actually wiped it out but wives do usually prove to be the one that gets the blame...

Only time I've had a problem with Firefox, and everything else, was during an attack by the dagblasted "Windows Police Pro" set of viruses lately. Came off an animated GIF site, and I hadn't updated my protection for it. [:(!][V]

How'd you do on seein' elk, Eric?
    Any takers?

Nope...and today was the last day of our normal archery season. I still have 4 days of rifle at the end of Oct...and then a late archery in Dec (by then, you are walking through 3' of snow). We had a really warm rutt...and I think it pushed them back some this year...they started talking late. The tough thing about N. ID is that the elk are sparse...they have hundreds and hundreds of rugged square miles to spread out in...and they are hunted hard, which means they are pretty smart creatures.

...then you really tie your hands if you go for the Archery Tag. Good Lord willing, I'll get one before the season is over...I hope!!!

Agreed. I don't put in for an "Archery Only" permit for 'em. Kinda
ridiculous, though, as I haven't rifle hunted 'em since livin' in WY.
Still, I put in for a GEN tag every year, and damn near draw it every
    year. Shhhhhh... I didn't say that!! [;)]

Yeah, I've hunted 'em with rifle in feet of snow in steep country and
bitter cold. Not my idea of fun.
