I can't believe I did it

Saw it a few weeks back. Thought about it then. Let it go (sort of.)

Stopped by today for an unrelated reason. Saw it again. Left. Drove back through town. Stopped again.

A serious chunk of change later, it's mine.

Got the gun I've been wanting ever since I first saw Dirty Harry when I was about 10 years old: a S&W Model 29 44 magnum, blue, 8 3/8" barrel. I still can't believe it.

It seemed like the dream that would never be realized. I finally realized it today. I'm a little bit more complete as a person and as a man.

As soon as I figure how to upload pics, you'll get them (maybe have The Wife help me out on that.)

As soon as the weather cooperates and I can actually shoot, you'll get a range report.

i got a airlight 44 mag awhile back that came with a couple boxes of ammo.

the price on a box of 50 was $19.88!

Congrats and welcome to the club

Nothing more fun than shooting an 8 3/8" .44 (OK, mine is a 629-1, but close enough).

I took my 44 Mag (Ruger Super Blackhawk) with me when I taught my brothers scouts about gun safety. When we entered the range, there was about 30 seconds of silence since only one person was in the range. The first shot startled most of the boys and one of them asked if it was a 44 magnum (I think that it was the only caliber that he remembered). I let him know that it was a 9mm. He asked how I knew. When he pulled out the 44, he LEARNED how I knew.

They are so fun and definitely gets some looks. Congratulations on the purchase.
