Blaming Bush has become pathological

One of my good friends/cousins is a raging liberal democrat (or so he claims; he's also an inveterate racist and gun nut who is constantly scheming to make as much money as possible.)

Anyway, we were out to lunch the other day and got to talking politics as we often do when we got on the subject of deficits and BHO's deficits in particular.

He had to own up to the fact that more debt has been run up under BHO than under all predecessors combined, but, get this: he blamed Bush for it, specifically the Afghan and Iraq wars for the current deficits. You know, the deficits that were approved and voted on by Congress when Bush was in office and that were reflected in Bush's budgets; those deficits. How long is this going to go on? If we have a Dem victory in 2016 (kill me now) will they still be blaming Bush or will it be BHO's turn to get blamed?

They will never stop blaming Bush. Poor Barrack was given such a terribly deep hole that he has worked feverishly to correct what Bush did..yadda yadda yadda...yep I can see the sweet on barrack's brow since he's been golfing, I mean working so hard.

There is no doubt that Obama is stainless. Nothing sticks to him. My question is, will this apply to any future Democrats or this just HIM getting away with blaming everybody else? Are voters only blind to HIS failures and lies or will they also forgive Hillary and whomever else may come along?

Not just Bush. He has blamed everybody and everything for his failures. he reminds of a 1st grade student pointing at others when the teachers asks who threw the eraser?

His getting away with this is due to the media. They love him and support him and don't report the truth.

Plenty of blame to go around because the debt ceiling always gets raised and it makes no differnce if the Congress is controlled by Republicans or Democrats.

We should never stop acknowledging high level politicians for what they do right.

We should never stop blaming high level politicians for what they do wrong.

These two statements are not mutually exclusive, they are defining of intellectual honesty.

I agree that Obama is considered 'stainless' as you've so eloquently established ( I like that BTW)...
But, Bush is not without fault... No politician is.

As far as I'm concerned they're all racketeers... Looking to line their own pockets and place blame elsewhere.
Oblammar is currently getting a free ride on the blameless media train...
And seeing as how the media loves him... I doubt he'll ever publicly get blamed for anything... ever. [:(!]

    "Blaming Bush has become pathological"

Just as defense of Bush and fear of Obama has been a pathological activity.

I think a more accurate statement is that blaming one's opposition while ignoring the wrong's of one's own partisan faction is an old (ancient) political act common to all partisans. People blame or praise politicians for the country's condition far more because of which side of the political divide they stand on then for honest consideration of facts.

I believe we will eventually learn that Bush, Obama and a huge portion of our Govt. is equally to blame. Because they are all "playing for the same team". We are and have been undergoing a systematic bankrupting of our country in the interests of One World Corporate Govt. Bush and others did their assigned parts of the plan. Obama is doing his.

You're correct in general. People thinking that Obama is worth more than a bucket of cold spit shows that Liberals are idiots.
    See? You're right.

Its not just Bush he blames thing on, it is the entire opposing party.
He gets away with it because of support from main stream media, pop culture, and teachings in public schools and universites.

Had a conversation a while back with a super liberal guy. He said its actually the house of reps that are in charge of all the spending, the president has nothing to do with it and since its a republican majority house its the republicans fault we are running such deficits.
I asked him: with that same though process should Clinton take any credit 'balancing the budget' in the 90s.
    He replied: absolutely. 100%

I couldnt get him to see the light
