A Luger action mounted sideways, set up for full-auto fire and equipped with a 20rd. magazine.

Hell, you got a Luger action, full auto, 9mm with 20 round mag, sounds like a good set up. Like a grease gun or an Uzi.

    ...designed by a German. [:D]

There's a LOT going on there for a 9mm SMG.

The same guy came up with another strange design along the same lines, but apparently intended for fixed position use.

At least you may have backup when one of them chokes during sustained fire. [:D]

The story is that the 1918 BAR was not deployed because we didn't want the advanced technology to get out to enemy or ally.

When one handles a BAR, one can understand why that decision was made.

I like the WW1 weapon described in 'Hatcher's Notebook' which consisted of a high-speed rotor into which ball bearings were fed and expelled at 1200 f.p.s.
    Ah, the good old days!
