The combination of cold air spreading down from the north and moisture associated with an upper low pressure system pushing across the Tennessee Valley... will bring a chance for a mix of rain and snow across parts of north Georgia late tonight and early on Saturday.
Light rain could change over to a mix of rain and snow between midnight and 4 am Saturday morning... and this mix could persist through mid to late Saturday morning. A complete change over to brief periods of mainly flurries is possible... however... little to no accumulations are expected for areas outside of the Winter Weather Advisory area that has been posted for parts of north central and northeast Georgia. Please see the latest wswffc for further details on the Winter Weather Advisory area.

Here we have had the warmest year on record (back to the 1880s), and across the US it has been the warmest summer on record.
Normally the whiptail lizards disappear by mid Sept, occasionally I see one as late as the first of Oct. This year I saw juveniles active on the 29th of Oct.

It sort of appears to me to be a pattern seen over and over on this old earth. We humans need to be aware of this earth and our part in the environment of course. On the other hand I sincerely doubt that we have much say over nature.

If I'm not mistaken I believe the last ice age subsided about 10,000 years ago. My guess is that the polar bear was around long before the beginning or end of it and adapted quite nicely to changing conditions. In any case I believe that the earth has been on a general warming trend, along with some rather disquieting bumps in the road, over about the last 100 centuries.
If true, then I would tend to think that this trend might be expected to continue... Or that the climate could turn colder with virtually no warning. All I'm saying is that we may be making a huge mistake by measuring climate change at intervals as short of 10,000 years.
Good stewardship of our earth is one thing. This we need to do. But worry about a natural progression of change even if we are a small part of it? I think perhaps we might better address things like ISIS because those crazies will kill us long before climate will be an issue.

Since it is such a serious threat, you have given up driving, removed your home from the grid, and use no source of any heat for your home, so as not to emit carbon, right?
I ask, because since there are so darnmany of you scientifical types who believe in the religion of AGW, it would seem that if all of you took the steps your beliefs dictate, it would make a massive difference.

The Earth went through an Ice Age many years age due to the effects of volcanic ash in the atmosphere that blocked the Sun's rays.
All that needs to be done is to select a volcano or two somewhere in the world and drop a Nuclear bomb in 'em. Instant dust cloud. Earth cools, everyone happy. So simple.
