i not sure how to take this model 1911 45 apart what am i looking for as far as markings go and how can i tell if it is the original finish. gun appears to have very little use.

If it has had very little use on its' present finish you want to be very careful on taking it apart so as not to add any scrapes and chafes to the finish.
I'd oil it up good before taking it apart.
Do you want to field strip it or take it completely apart?
