1863 springfield question

are the bands and nose cap the same on 1863 springfield and the trapdoor springfields.i am replaceing the front part of the stock from the first band up and trapdoor parts seem to be more available.

    The .50-70 "Allin Conversion" models (Models 1865 through 1870) were made from surplus Civil War rifles so the bands will fit. However, the .45-70's (Model 1873 & 1884) were smaller and will not interchange.
