extractor/ejector question (for stevens .22-.410)

Is it possible to 'turn' the .410 shell extractor into a shell ejector? It appears that it is a matter of replacing the existing spring with a much stronger one.
Would that theory hold with other extractor mechanisms (such as on other break-open single shots and side-by-sides). Not sure if doing so would impart additional stress on other components.

thanks

no. the ejector has a delay design wear a spring is cocked and fires little hammers to hit the extractor. that mechanizm is ususlly put in the forearm and is a major mechanism. thus why guns with ejectors command premiums.
even more complicated are selective ejectors that sense fired and unfired rounds. whew.
and you want to put it in a stevens? its like putting a V8 in a chevy geo.[:p]

Hmm...my older model stevens 94 16 ga single shot has an ejector...unless I am using the wrong terminology. When you break open the breech, the 16ga pops the shell out (fired or not); the .410 just extends the shell out so you can grasp it and pull it out of the chamber. The 16 doesn't have any mechanism extending into the forend.
Just looking to reload faster after missing the rabbit the 1st time...if the .410 shell shot out, it would be the epitome of convienience.
